Thermo Fisher Scientific is pleased to announce a new partnership with REGENESIS, the global leader in proven and low-cost soil and groundwater remediation technologies. Under this new arrangement, Thermo Fisher Scientific will supply and support remediation technology customers in Australia and New Zealand. The two companies will be working closely in the coming year to increase the level of service and supply of REGENESIS’ remediation technologies to environmental consulting firms throughout the region.

REGENESIS

REGENESIS offers a range of soil and groundwater remediation technologies in the form of specialty chemicals. Each technology has been specifically designed for environmental remediation applications with an emphasis on performance, cost-effectiveness, ease of use and environmental safety.

REGENESIS technologies offer the following benefits:

- Food grade, environmentally safe and easy to handle materials.
- Patented controlled-release technology (CRT)™ provides maximum product longevity and optimised oxygen and hydrogen release profiles.
- Lower costs and a significantly smaller carbon footprint than operations and maintenance intensive engineered mechanical systems.

REGENESIS products include:

Advanced Oxygen Release Compound (ORC Advanced®): Designed specifically for the enhanced aerobic biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons, ORC Advanced® is often directly injected into contaminated groundwater or saturated soil, where it slowly release a steady supply of oxygen over a six to twelve month period and sometimes even longer. This product is also widely used in tank pit excavations where it is easily mixed with backfill for enhanced aerobic biodegradation.

Replaceable ORC Advanced® Filter Socks are designed to be emplaced into existing wells for localised treatment of petroleum hydrocarbons.

RegenOx® In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO): RegenOx® is an injectable, easy-to-apply, chemical oxidant that is designed specifically for the rapid, in-situ and/or ex-situ chemical oxidation of a broad range of contaminants including both chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons. This technology differs from biological degradation in that it produces robust chemical reactions that destroy target contaminants on contact. Some residual oxygen is produced however it is very short-lived and not recommended as a long-term oxygen source.
